It’s a chance to connect with others, reflect on the work we share, and start the day feeling energized, supported, and ready to learn together.
EL Education’s ALL Block can be a powerful space for deepening learning when it is structured with purpose. In this session, educators will explore how to manage ALL Block to support comprehension, language development, and student independence. Participants will examine practical routines and differentiation strategies that help meet diverse learner needs while keeping students engaged in meaningful work. You’ll leave with clear ideas for creating a more focused, effective, and student-centered ALL Block.
Lunch is a chance to settle in, share a table, and enjoy conversation with people across the HIVE community. Explore affinity groups, write a topic on the table sign, or join a discussion that interests you. However you choose to gather, this time is designed to make room for connection, reflection, and new relationships.
Can students really prove properties of angles, lines, and figures by using flips, slides, and turns? What am I, and my students, missing if we are not engaging with geometric proofs using transformations? This session will use student video to explore how geometric proofs by transformation are mathematically rigorous and accessible to students.
Begin Day 2 of HIVE with breakfast, conversation, and connection. Whether you’re catching up with colleagues or meeting someone new, this morning gathering offers a welcoming start to the day and a moment to refuel before the next round of learning begins.
Move beyond One Teach-One Support by clearly defining Roles and Responsibilities through the lens of student needs and maximizing the use of various co-instructional approaches, all while utilizing the Bookworms instructional routines to increase student access and engagement with the curriculum.
Gather for lunch and choose a table that fits where you are today. Rejoin an affinity group, try a new conversation, or add a topic to the sign and invite others in. This shared meal is a chance to continue building community, exchange ideas, and make new connections across the HIVE community.
Families and caregivers play an essential role in students’ learning, but too often they are invited in only through one-time events or traditional conferences. In this session, participants will explore practical strategies for building authentic family partnerships around instruction, helping caregivers feel more connected, informed, and equipped to support learning at home. You’ll leave with concrete ideas for strengthening trust, communication, and shared investment in student learning.
